Joining the reporters at KING 5 this week, Heidi Kirk. Heidi previously worked as a reporter for WRAL-TV (NBC affiliate) in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She joined WRAL in November 2023 and primarily covered Eastern North Carolina and Cary. Her last day at the station was July 31, 2026. Heidi has a Master’s degree in journalism and public affairs from American University in Washington, D.C. While studying, she won a student Emmy for reporting and interned with CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, contributing to coverage of the war in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic. Her career began at WRDE Coast TV (NBC affiliate) in coastal Delaware (around 2022–2023).
