Scott Jennings – Future WH Press Secretary?

Kaitlan Collins – Scott Jennings in a recent battle of words.
A familiar name has emerged as a candidate to replace Leavitt: CNN commentator Scott Jennings.

Jennings, who loves to stick up for President Trump while tangling with liberals on “CNN NewsNight,” is an early favorite. However, it’s still early in the process, and according to some reports, Trump isn’t totally sold on the idea.

So, does Jennings want the job?

When asked on “CNN NewsNight” by guest host Lulu Garcia-Navarro if he was going to take the job, Jennings said no.

But when CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked Jennings about it this week, he said, “I don’t really have anything to say about it other than, I mean, I would get to see you every day.”

Collins responded by saying, “That’s not a no.”

CNN’s Brian Stelter: “Would Jennings really want to give up his CNN and Salem Radio salaries for the unforgiving press secretary job?”

It would be a pay cut, one would assume, but it would also put Jennings in the game, so to speak, instead of on the sidelines just talking about it. He worked in the George W. Bush administration, so maybe he would like the chance to get back on the inside.

However:

Some of President Trump’s fiercest allies are trying to derail Jennings over his longstanding ties to Sen. Mitch McConnell.”

Jennings has a close friendship with McConnell and once managed McConnell’s re-election campaign.

Stay tuned.
