Also, that month–

(Seattle P-I) Former KVI GM to Medford Appointment

Randy Archer, who recently resigned as general manager of radio station KVI in Seattle, will become vice president and station manager of KBOY in Medford, Ore., effective May 1.

Archer spent nine and one-half years with the Seattle station after earlier stints with KING, KOL and Bremerton’s KBRO.
He assumed the general managership of KVI upon the departure of Bert West to San Francisco’s KSFO Radio, another outlet in the Golden West Broadcasting chain to which KVI belongs.

After just two and one-half months in the top spot, he abruptly resigned in mid-March. The Medford appointment was revealed by Kenneth Card, KBOY (AM-FM) owner and president.

Thus comes to a halt more than 20 years’ continuous activity in Puget Sound-area newspaper and radio work, the last 15 having been almost completely devoted to radio sales. Archer’s wife Pat and their two children will remain in the couple’s Bellevue home until joining him in Medford at the conclusion of the current school term.
