FOX Adds ROKU

Fox Corporation (Fox) announced a deal on June 15, 2026, to acquire Roku in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at approximately $22 billion in enterprise value. Shareholder approval from both companies came on October 14, 2026 (today). The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory clearances (including a Department of Justice second request under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act).
Roku founder, chairman, and CEO Anthony Wood is expected to continue in a role and join Fox’s board. Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch has described it as a defining step in the company’s strategy.
The combination pairs Fox’s premium live content (sports, news, entertainment, plus free ad-supported streamer Tubi) with Roku’s leading connected-TV platform, which reaches more than 100 million global streaming households (including a large share of U.S. broadband homes), along with devices/smart-TV software, The Roku Channel, and strong ad-targeting capabilities.
