Seattle P-I/Bill Virgin – The new morning team on KNDD-FM (107.7) has started this week with two additional hurdles on top of the usual challenge of trying to get new names and voices established in a market: Replace a well-established morning team. And make a program work in two cities at the same time. The team of Marconi, Tiny and Niki J the producer comes to The End from sister Entercom station KNRK-FM in Portland. They’ll be doing mornings on both stations. That approach has been tried before, and not terribly successfully, when KISW-FM aired the Rob, Arnie & Dawn show in a simulcast with Seattle and other cities. The Marconi, Tiny and Niki team say they’re aware of that history, but say they think they can make a Seattle-Portland show work, in large part because of the connections between the two towns.
