All three major networks ran one-hour prime-time specials about Parton. ABC and CBS aired specials at 10 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, while NBC aired its special at 9 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
ABC reported that its special — “Dolly Parton: An American Original” — drew more than 4 million viewers.

Dolly Parton died following a brief battle with cancer … TMZ has confirmed.
Parton’s reps said in a statement to TMZ … she was surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville when she died.

I’m assuming Holly Menino (KOMO 4) was just choked up over the death of Dolly Parton as she read the story off the prompter. Menino stumbled over the name of a Tacoma theater, PANTAGES. Parton had appeared there a couple years ago. Menino stumbled, attempted to recover, but blew it. Her pronunciation of the name was not even close.
Menino has been with KOMO long enough to have heard of the Pantages Theater before and she should be up to speed by now on landmarks in and around the Seattle-Tacoma area.
