starring: Jerry Lewis and Maureen O’Sullivan; Mutual Broadcasting System (originally broadcast 5-18-1955) Family Theater was a program created to promote family unity and each week saw a drama illustrating the importance of family life and prayer. The main reason for the success of this series was undoubtedly due to the numerous Hollywood stars that participated.

You’re probably thinking of the same “Family Theatre” that was on Mutual from 1947 to 1956. Mutual aired reruns Wednesday night at 7:30 pm ET from 1956 to the end of the 1960s.

Found online amongst hundreds of British programs and audio books. No source given for the station taking the network feed. There was an earlier version of Family Theater back in the 1940s.

This was from Wednesday May 7, 1969. Fed at 7:30 pm ET, 4:30 pm PT. Bill Stern did a nightly sportscast, followed by a 60-second commercial and Family Theatre. I’m curious how you found this.
