This interview took place Friday, June 5, 2026, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin (at Custer Farms, inside a barn at the White House’s request), and aired on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Host: Kristen Welker, moderator of Meet the Press.
Setting: Outdoor/rural Wisconsin during a rainy Trump visit focused on the economy and midterms. The weather caused multiple interruptions.
Duration: Roughly 50–60 minutes before Trump ended it abruptly.
Main Topics:The ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict (Trump discussed potential deals, military actions, enriched uranium, and gas/fertilizer price impacts).
The economy and midterms.
Trump’s proposed “anti-weaponization” fund (using taxpayer money to compensate people he claims were targeted by the justice system).
Election integrity: Trump repeated claims that the 2020 election was rigged and said similar “cheating” was happening in California’s ongoing June 2 gubernatorial primary (slow mail ballot counting, which runs until July).
The interview turned heated in the final segment when Welker pressed Trump for evidence of his election fraud claims in California and fact-checked him. Trump grew agitated, called Welker and NBC (along with ABC, CBS, CNN) “crooked,” “one-sided,” and “dishonest,” and abruptly ended the interview.
Trump: “I’ve had enough… Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”
He tossed his microphone and walked off.
Welker: Pleaded for him to continue, noting she and the team had “traveled all the way to Wisconsin” for the interview (normally done in D.C.).
Trump replied he had “sat in the rain with you for an hour” and urged her to “straighten out your press.”
Trump later acknowledged he “got a little bit angry” with NBC over the situation.

Meet The Press meets a fit of pique
William Engelhardt • June 7, 2026
Trump yells red-faced for two minutes about how crooked NBC and the rest of the media is (after Welker asks for evidence for his claim that the CA elections are rigged). And then says Welker is either stupid or crooked herself, then says “I’ve had enough.” (This is 50 minutes into a planned 90 minute interview.) Welker begs him not to end the interview, pleading, “But we’ve come all this way to Wisconsin.” The president then attempts to get up but is unable to stand up straight and hobbles out hunched over.
Not defending Welker, but Trump’s comportment — right in front of our eyes — raises more questions than usual about his stability, judgment, and mental sharpness.
Watch Sunday’s Meet the Press interview. Judge for yourself.
Trump is sharp and focused
Jason Remington • June 7, 2026
Sharp as a tack. Trump runs rings around everyone in the White House. He is focused. He probes, asks tough questions, and stays on top of details.
Trump is vigorous, and has a keen grasp of things.
If you think he doesn’t have the energy level or the mental acuity, then watch him on the golf course. He aced his medical exams.
Donald Trump is formidable, impressive, and effective.
My mistake

Oh, right. That’s what they said about Joe Biden.
The NBC Snake

I don’t trust Kristen Welker as far as I can throw her.
