Franque Thompson, FOX 13 news anchor, wearing a questionable outfit for the Saturday night broadcast at 10. The station debuted a new set at the new FOX 13 HQ earlier in the evening.
KCPQ and its sister station KZJO (FOX 13+) have just moved to a new downtown studio in the Axis9 tower at 1800 9th Avenue in Seattle’s Denny Triangle. The station left its longtime home at 1813 Westlake Ave. N. (near Lake Union in the Westlake neighborhood) for the second floor of the redeveloped 16-story Axis9 building (a former Amazon office tower). The roughly 23,000–27,000 sq ft space is about half the size of the previous facility. News broadcasts from the new location began this weekend.
Key features of the new facility
Modern main studio with 4K-capable cameras that can quickly change angles between segments.
Dedicated streaming studio, podcast studio, newsroom (with height-adjustable desks and surrounding monitors), kitchen, and weather terrace for outdoor shots.
Technical upgrades including a networked fiber-optic system (replacing dozens of traditional cables), production resolution raised from 720p to 1080p (with infrastructure for up to 2K), and individually controllable studio lighting.
The location sits across from the Seattle Convention Center, near I-5 and City Hall, placing the newsroom closer to many downtown and regional stories. Lake Washington Partners (which acquired and renovated the building) and FOX Television Stations announced the move in December 2025 as a long-term investment in the station and downtown Seattle.

“HEY! HER EYES ARE UP HERE.”

Worse were the stand-ups with Thompson in a dress too short for Prime Time. There is no dress code for tv news, that is obvious.
