KMAS picks up KRXY in bankruptcy deal

Ephrata Radio LLC has purchased Variety Hits “94.5 Roxy” KRXY Shelton/Olympia WA from Olympia Broadcasters Inc. as part of the seller’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Ephrata pays $27,500 and begins LMA, simulcasting 1030 KMAS/Shelton. KMAS is also leasing 101.9 K270CJ/Olympia from NW Indy Radio.

Turn the dial to 94.5. 📻
Yes, that’s right! KMAS is now broadcasting on 94.5 FM. That’s 3 ways to hear the voice of Mason County: AM 1030, 103.3 FM, and now 94.5 FM.
For now, that means the same local voices. Same live sports. Same local radio, with a bigger reach than we’ve ever had with even more possibilities.
Try KMAS on 94.5 and tell us how it sounds and where you are. And help us share this big news!

  1. KMAS plans for 94.5

As KMAS-Shelton expands, adding KRXY FM to the fold, Jeff Slakey’s morning and Rachel Hansen’s afternoon drive shows remain the local segments. Other day-parts are automated, with slight pauses between music selections allowing for nice, clean recordings for those that have their cassette players at the ready.

The plan for KRXY will be local radio and a playlist simulating the original ROXY-sound.

This keeps 94.5 FM out of the clutches of entities such as Educational Media Foundation/K-LOVE and foreign language broadcasters.
