I can honestly say, I did not hear one of POA’s KOL broadcasts. He was gone in December.

October 1968 — KOL’s irascible morning disk jockey, Paul Oscar Anderson has appointed himself the standard bearer for airline stewardesses for whom marriage means an automatic loss of job.
P.O.A. took up the cause on Monday morning after learning that a United Airline’s stewardess was fired for telling the truth by answering “yes” when asked if the gentleman sharing her abode was her husband.
Apparently, had she denied the legality of the relationship, the officials would have allowed her to continue as an employee. In order to force a change in this unsavory policy, Anderson, also known as Big Daddy Blue Eyes, is urging all stewardesses, married or not, to wear wedding bands in protest.
RESPONSE — Judging from the initial influx of phone calls to Radio KOL from irate stewardesses pledging their support, the movement could prove effective.
If Big Daddy Blue Eyes has his way, the companies will now think twice before posing that familiar rhetorical question, “Is this any way to run an airline?”
