Specifically, lyrics that don’t make sense, references that are meaningless to the listener, lines or ryhmes thrown together as filler. Paul McCartney released a few tunes that never should have been recorded. Anything John Lennon recorded with Yoko was also trash.
Johnny Cash recorded “Dirty Old Egg Sucking Dog”
I’m gonna stomp your head in the ground
If you don’t stay out of my hen house
You dirty old egg-sucking hound
Now if he don’t stop eating my eggs up
Though I’m not a real bad guy
I’m going to get my rifle and send him
To that great chicken house in the sky
Egg-sucking dog
You’re always hanging around
But you’d better stay out of my hen house
You dirty old egg-sucking hound
I ask, Why?
Coming in as #1 on my list: (Tin Man by America) Regarding the line, “The tropic of Sir Galahad.” Sir Galahad is a knight of legend in King Arthur’s court, but what he has to do with a tropic is not clear. Like many of the references in this song, Dewey Bunnell used poetic license to create them, as they kept the song flowing and added intrigue. [SONGFACTS]
In my search for the song’s meaning, this sums it up. These lines are filler. A hodge podge of thoughts that mean little or nothing, unless the listener is stoned.
Trace Adkins – “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”
Here she comes, Lord help us all
Ol’ T.W.’s girlfriend done slapped him outta his chair
Poor ole boy, it ain’t his fault
It’s so hard not to stare
At that honky tonk badonkadonk
Keepin’ perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin’ on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how’d she even get them britches on
That honky tonk badonkadonk
(Aww son)
Country music has it’s share of stupid songs which should never have been recorded. How low class, drunk and high on Mary Jane do you have to be to enjoy that Trace Adkins crap fest?
Your thoughts, additions to the list, and why you think the song is useless and should never have been recorded.
