    “Burns Hotline, go ahead,” as Pat used to say to the callers. Pat used to telephone a newsmaker or public official live, and you could listen to their conversation. I remember this well. CJOR and CKNW were very competitive at the time, and i believe NW tried to hire him away from CJOR.
