My shiny Toastmaster Astro turns seventy this year and still toasts ’em two at a time three or four times a week.

    1. Right!

The light bulbs they sell these days burn out in a few months. Refrigerator and stove lights also, ridiculous. But, we have a generation that buys new cell phones each year, sometimes twice a year because they toss them around carelessly and break the screens.

  2. Define: Cable

By “Cable” they mean the tv networks, delivered by cable across the states. Most programming was in black and white. Color tv was becoming more prevalent, but most households hung on to that trusty black and white set until it died. They don’t make appliances like they did back then.
